What tips do you have for someone getting tattooed?

Eat and drink beforehand! Also take water or a sugary drink and snacks along to your appointment. Blood sugar dropping is the main cause of a client passing out. A good night’s sleep the night before also helps, tattoos can be more painful if you’re unwell or tired.

While it may be fun to bring friends, for a long session you’re better off with headphones and a distraction like music or a movie.

Where are you located?

Cassandra is currently based at the Abstruse Tattoo Studio, Hurlstone Park in Sydney, NSW.

Are you doing guest spots?

There are currently no plans for a guest spot, but the website and socials will be updated on the occasion that Cassandra is in another studio and for how long. Invitations to guest spot welcome.

How do I book?

Bookings can be made directly via email for flash and other custom designs and commissions, or with the use of our handy booking request form. Once your design has been discussed, you will be sent a link to an online calendar where you can view and edit your own appointments on the artist’s calendar.

Cash only?

Cassandra welcomes cash on the day of your appointment, otherwise in the day she also provides Pay I.D., Efptos services at a charge of 1.6% per transaction and After Pay at a charge of 8% per transaction.

What is the deposit policy?

Cassandra charges a $200, non-refundable, non-transferable deposit to secure an appointment. Deposits come off of the final price of your tattoo (on the day of a single appointment, or at the final appointment upon completion of a larger project) unless they are forfeited due to the following conditions:

• Client reschedules less than 72 hours before the date of their appointment without a valid reason.

• Attend your appointment in a state not fit to be tattooed. Drunk, sunburnt, unwell, etc.

• Repeatedly reschedule your booking without a valid reason.

• Show up later than 45 minutes after your appointment was due to begin.

Can I use numbing cream?

While Cassandra would prefer client’s did not use numbing cream, as it makes the skin tough and can lead to colours healing more desaturated - she also understands that sometimes pain shouldn’t get in the way of someone adorning their own body. If you do plan on using a form of numbing for your appointment, please contact the artist first to discuss a plan of action.

Cassandra also has in-stock numbing sprays that can be applied during the appointment periodically at the artist’s discretion.

When do I get my tattoo design?

Cassandra sends designs 2-3 days before the date of the appointment, and of course any additional changes can be made on the day.

What do you charge?

Cassandra charges $220 per hour for a custom design, which includes the design fee and any additional changes that need to be made. Also a free touch-up with-in the first 12 months.

Flash designs are a set price as listed or discussed with the artist.

Cover-ups and fix ups?

Cassandra is open to doing entire tattoo cover-ups, or fix up / ‘glow ups.’ These should be discussed with the artist before the day of your tattoo appointment. Sadly while Cassandra always welcomes the challenge of working with an existing design, some tattoo laser removal may be required first.

Is I.D. required?

Yes, unfortunately photo identification is required by NSW law to obtain a tattoo. Cassandra is sensitive to the fact that many forms of identification carry someone’s ’dead name.’ Identification is only obtained for legal purposes and a client’s preferred name and pronouns will be used and respected at all times.

What hours are you available?

Cassandra is available for free, in-person consultations between 9 - 10am Tuesday through to Saturday. All consultations require a booking via email.

Studio tattooing hours are between 10am to 5pm, Tuesday to Saturday.

Cassandra is unavailable on Sundays or Mondays.

What do you recommend for aftercare?

Full aftercare instructions will be provided to the client on the day of the appointment, and discussed in person. Cassandra provides Saniderm/Second Skin free of charge on the day, and Bepanthen may also be purchased at the studio for $10 a tube.

Do you offer gift vouchers?

Yes! Gift vouchers can be made out for any value, enquires should be made to the artist.
